My pleasure
It is a pleasure to look in the mirror before leaving home every day; wear my scarf and make sure it is properly done covering all of my hair. It is a pleasure to go out of my house knowing that what I have did is something that will please Allah, and my self. A Hijab is a thing I wear that makes me feel free. Free to do what I believe in. Free to practice my religion with out disturbance, I can walk in the street, go to work, a restaurant, a shopping mall, and travel freely wearing it. How was I convinced to wear it? What is the purpose of wearing it? Questions have been asked. I am convinced That Allah is my God and Mohamed (PBUH) is his Prophet, I am convinced that praying five times a day is a must, That heaven and hell do exist; there is a reward and punishment. All of those has been mentioned in Qura`an and Sunnah (The sayings and acts of the Prophet PBUH). The Hijab has been mentioned in Qura’an and has been described in Sunnah. This is how I was convinced. The purpose of it to me is the peace that I feel, the freedom and pleasure.

Salted-caramel,
Here you go:
q8ibloger,
Thank you :)
Nice post :)
I always have an extra respect for girls who wear hijab because they are convinced and not because of traditions or family reasons.

You were really young.

Glad that you did :)

We are living the Best life that our religion gave us.
We have a duty to make earth a better place to live in.
No body here is forcing any body to do what he/she does not believe in.
I wrote about what I believe in and didn't Force others to it.

Welcome to my blog F.
I am really glad that you liked it.
And thank you for your sweet comment :)
Dearest True Faith,
It's great to know you are that happy about your experience with hijab.
I am not trying in any way to philosophise here. I am just sharing my experience with you. And hope you allow me to do this here.
You quoted verses from Quraan always used to say that veil is obligatory. And quoted a hadith with asmaa bint abi bakr (which was classified as a weak hadith)
Researching the hijab issue revealed to me that Quraan verses can be interpreted in many different ways- all done by human beings who take their evidence from the same sources. So there is no wonder they reach the same conclusion. Why do I trust these and not someone who interprets differently?
Why is hijab that important of an issue? If it is a fard, what about men's prayer at the mosque? Do all those men who talk about the irreligiousness of non-jijabs pray Fajr at the mosque every morning?
By the way, I've been wearing the veil for 10 years :)
