Is it that easy

Is it that easy? To do what is forbidden in Islam. There are Kuwaitis, who are Muslims and drink alcoholic drinks, go to bars to drink when they are out of Kuwait. Some have an official relation ship with the other gender with out marriage. Some don’t even pray. Is it that easy to lose your brain for moments of pleasure; and take all what Allah gave you with out paying him back by praying to him and thanking him for all what you have. Is it easy to hear the call for pray from a mosque near you and don’t go to pray? What is it with those people, is it that they don’t really believe in their religion any more? Or they believe but give their pleasure the priority? Or is it that their instincts are moving them like animals? Don't they feel straitened and griefed? May Allah lead us all to the right path to Heaven.

I believe people commit all kinds of sins, with all degrees, for various reasons.

Some don't believe in the religion at all, though they don't show it. Some think that they'll have the opportunity to change. I've had people telling me that, because they'll participate in Hajj one day, they can do all that pleases them during their youth!

I personally cannot see how people can go into extremes when what they believe is the absolute opposite. I don't think it happens much.

The only sensible answer is that people have their own views on many things. Some believe that extremism is the key. Others believe that they should sit and think long and hard before accepting a concept in Islam.

As I mentioned, a great deal of people DO think before following a certain lifstyle. This is what these blogs are telling me.

Sorry it's a long comment, and I sound like an 'I-know-it-all' person, hehe.

Interesting topic. ;)

Ra-1,

I will be waiting.

Suvai,

Your comment is good, as I mentioned in your blog reading what you write never made be bored.

The Hajj thing, I have heard it a lot, but what makes them sure that they will live until they go to Hajj.

We are created by Allah and he is the only one that knows every thing about us, we work hard and follow his directions, we live well and go to heaven by the Mercy of Allah.

Nice subject :)
Well I am not perfect and I made mistakes and I regret them. And I believe that regret is the first step to be a better muslim and a better person in general. The bad things is that some are actually proud of the sins and mistakes they made and they are making!

As for why some commit sins and so on? Well many will tell you that life is short so we should enjoy it and have fun even if that fun iss 7aram! Some will say I am still young and single and I wanna enjoy my life before I get commited to another person and I will not be free to do as I please! Some will tell you if I didn't do this I will be too depressed and I may kill myself! Some of them have the wish to change but when? God knows!
You know what I hate the most? When some of those people who don't pray and fast come and preach others about religion!

Asalamu aleykum
I like this post

people who dont pray at all are in serious trouble
they are either in major or minor kuffr

indeed ghaflah is a major reason
some of these people are just asleep and need someone to shake them and wake them up
other just need to be reminded

yet unfortunatly others are mu9ereen on the '9alaal they are in

another reason is 6ool 2al-2amal

they never think that they could die anytime

as happened with my freind who passed away before his plan to become multazim
the plan which he fell short of by a few years

people just follow theor desires and are too short sighted to see what is waiting for them after death

i could talk about this forever

i have work to do
make du3a2 for me seriously
soo much work and papers and exams

just listen to this darse

i urge everyone to take the time

http://www.islamway.com/?iw_s=Lesson&iw_a=view&lesson_id=1441

and make more du3a2 for me

May Allah lead us all to the right path to heaven :)

Since I live abroad, Ive seen so many things that make me crack up. For example, during Ramadan, I know girls and guys, who fast during the day, and do their prayers. As soon as its sunset, they start holding hands and touching one another. They assume that these things shouldnt be done during the day, but they can do as much as they can sunset onwards!!. Stupidity and ignorance!!

I like your point ...
there is a hadith by the prophet MOhammed (PBUH) which means that when u want to do wrong or something forbidden by Allah (swt), do it alone and in a place where no human can see u ...
I hope my explanation is clear :P

Ra-1,

I have been waiting ages for your comment.

It is so true, but the problem that some people are proud of it and encourage others to do it also.

So true, and hard to watch this behavior. Though, perhaps we shouldn't judge or question, but follow the scripture on our hearts. Lead by example, and have compassion for all.

Whatever religion each of us extolls, most teach us to have compassion for such people! Try to help them find the path in your own way (as an instrument of god?), but remain vigilant against indignation and superiority... for it is a rare thing indeed to be completely pure, and capable of judging others!

Peace be upon you

TF, by saying that I mean, We should live the life we choose and allow others to do the same.
True it might be annoying when you sit next to someone who brag about doing something bad, but in the end.. its his life & not mine & everyone will face the consequences of their actions whatever they are.
I know many ppl disagree with me on this.. but thats the way I choose in dealing with such situations.

bo ghazi,

I don't disagree with you,
I think that this is the only way that we could deal with such situations.

But if that person was close to me I could advice him/her.

RA1

please cite the first hadeeth you mentioned

if you want to disobey then do it out if sight

Advice is good for a person you are close to, in fact it is often good for those you are not close to. Of course, sometimes the advice must come in a different guise, my favorite being example.

If I think it is best for someone to be loving, then I should love. If I think it is best for someone to have faith, then I should have faith. If I think it is best for someone to live a pure life, well, you get the idea. :) This method tends to take more time, but the results tend to be better. And worst case, you have improved your own practice!

But, in my humble opinion, far to often people (including myself - though I try hard not to!) jump to determining whether someone else is following a holy life, without first asking that of themself! It is also fear that sometimes motivates us to do this. When we see someone doing something that is not virtous in our eyes, maybe that link that binds us all reminds us that our fates could be reversed.

Who knows the true answer?! All the more reason to focus on our practice.

(As an aside, I am not a Muslim (Musalman - please tell me which term you prefer and forgive my ignorance) but I have the utmost respect for anyone following their faith. So if my nonsense doesn't belong here, tell me and off I go!)

Simon,

Your words are great and do match all religions in general.

We have a saying in Islam with the meaning of: " Like for your brother what you like for your self"

V.C.,

"hypocrite" is an excuse that many people are taking to convince their selves.
